X'Factor Israel Live
Filipina immigrant worker Rose “Osang” Fostanes downplays her chances of winning the title of the first “X Factor Israel,” noting that she’s an alien in Tel Aviv.
The lone foreign contender is in the Top 4 of the Israeli hit talent show, along with locals Eden Ben Zaken, Uri Shakiv, and Fushion group.
“Hindi naman ako naghahangad na mananalo ng first kasi ‘di naman ako taga-rito. Pero sisikapin ko pa ring makarating sa number one,” Fostanes said in a video call interview aired on “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.”
She is currently gearing up for the grand finals on Wednesday dawn, Manila time, where she is set to perform Frank Sinatra’s classic “My Way.”
Her mentor Shiri Maimon nevertheless campaigns for the Pinay caregiver. While she admits that it could be weird to have a Filipina win the competition, she argues that it’s more important to see Fostanes’ journey to reach her dream.
The Israeli pop/R&B singer lauded her finalist not only for her fantastic vocals but for being a good soul.
In an earlier round, pop star Ivri Lider said Fostanes is “the best singer in the competition.”
To further boost the massive support of the Filipino community and other Israeli fans, the Taguig-based family of Fostanes will be watching the grand finals live.
Last Thursday, Fostanes’ younger sister Nancy received a phone call from the production team of “X Factor Israel,” inviting them to be the special surprise guests for the Pinay contender.
“Excited ako, nine-nerbiyos ako. Hindi niya alam ‘yun eh. Ano ‘yun eh, surprise sa kanya,” Nancy said.
Along with her sisters, Fostanes’ girlfriends of 30 years, Melinda Adel, will also coming.
An emotional Aldel says she misses Fostanes’ jokes and her caring nature.
“Puwede mong yakapin, puwede mong halikan. Siyempre miss mo ‘yung isa’t isa eh,” her girlfriend gushed.
